The programme in full
All twenty tasks below, with finish weeks calculated. Read the float column before the dates — zero float means the whole project waits on that task.

Finish week is a live formula. The value column totals to the contract sum with an 18 per cent GST row.
How to use it
- Set week one to your actual start and let the formula do the rest; do not type finish dates.
- Protect the zero-float tasks. Factory manufacture, carcass installation, shutter hanging and snag closure are where a week lost is a week lost.
- Front-load the approvals. Three of the four pre-site tasks are yours, not the contractor's.
- Use the value column as a cash-flow plan and reconcile it against the payment schedule.
What slips, and why
- Material selection. Task three has one week of float and consumes it almost every time. Closing selections early is the single biggest programme saving available to a client.
- Society NOC. Two weeks of float on paper; a committee that meets monthly can consume all of it.
- Factory manufacture. Four weeks and one week of float. If selections are late, this starts late and everything after it moves.

Frequently asked questions
Why 14 weeks and not eight?+
Because society hours are 10am to 6pm, six days a week, and because joinery manufacture takes four weeks regardless of how fast the site moves. Eight-week promises usually mean either a very small scope, unrestricted working hours, or a programme that will not be met.
What is float, and why does it matter?+
Float is how long a task can slip before it delays the project. Zero float means the task is on the critical path. On this programme four tasks have zero float and they are all carpentry, which is why joinery decisions are the ones worth making early.
Does a monsoon start really add two weeks?+
Usually. Painting and polishing cure slowly in high humidity, waterproofing needs dry substrate, and material deliveries are less reliable in July and August. Two weeks is the realistic allowance for a June to September start in Mumbai.
Can the programme be compressed?+
Partly. Running factory manufacture in parallel with site finishing is already assumed here. Beyond that, compression means more trades on site at once, which needs more supervision and usually produces more snags. Going below about eleven weeks on a full 2BHK rarely ends well.
How does the value column relate to payments?+
It shows what is earned at each task, which is not the same as what is invoiced. Use it to sanity-check a payment schedule: if 60 per cent of the money is due by week five but only 35 per cent of the value has been delivered, the schedule is front-loaded.
