Residential Interior Designers in Mumbai

We design and build homes across Mumbai — from compact Andheri 2BHKs to sea-facing apartments — and we handle the society paperwork, the lift slots and the 10am–6pm work windows that come with them.

What homes actually cost in Mumbai

Mumbai pricing sits above the national band for three reasons: skilled labour costs more, material movement into high-rises is slow and expensive, and carpet areas are tight enough that almost everything ends up custom-made rather than standard-sized.

The Mumbai-specific constraints nobody quotes for

Two identical flats — one in Pune, one in Powai — do not take the same time to finish. These are the variables that change a Mumbai schedule:

  • Society working hours. Most buildings permit noisy work only between about 10am and 6pm, and many prohibit it entirely on Sundays and public holidays. That is a real 25–30% reduction in available site time versus an independent house.
  • Lift slots and service lifts. Material movement is often restricted to specific hours or to a single service lift shared with other flats. Large ply sheets and stone slabs need planning, not improvisation.
  • NOC and deposits. Most societies require a written NOC, a refundable damage deposit, and a list of workers with ID. We handle this paperwork as part of the project.
  • Debris removal. BMC rules and society constraints mean debris has to be bagged and removed on schedule, not piled in a corridor.
  • Humidity and monsoon. Coastal humidity is punishing on cheap board. In kitchens, bathrooms and any external wall, we specify BWP ply or WPC rather than MR-grade — it costs more and it is the difference between joinery lasting ten years and swelling in three.

In Mumbai, the constraint is rarely the design. It is getting 400 sq ft of plywood into a 12th-floor flat between ten and six.

Design and build under one accountable roof

Storage is the whole game

A Mumbai home is a storage problem with a view. Our residential work here concentrates on volume you cannot see: full-height wardrobes with lofts, bed storage, sliding shutters in tight passages, a shoe and utility zone at the entrance, and kitchens that use every internal corner with pull-outs rather than dead space.

On the Palghar residence below, the brief was a family of five in a layout that originally offered three usable cupboards. We took storage from roughly 90 cubic feet to over 300 without reducing the floor area that people actually move through.

Areas we serve

We take residential projects across Mumbai and the MMR. These are the areas where we work most often:

They handled the society NOC and the lift bookings without us chasing anything. The flat was done in fourteen weeks and the snag list was four items.

Priya & Rahul M.3BHK · Bandra West

We got a line-item BOQ, not a lump sum. Final bill was within 3% of the estimate.

Aarav S.2BHK · Andheri West

The storage planning was the real value. We have three times the cupboard space and the flat feels bigger, not smaller.

Frequently asked questions

How much do residential interior designers charge in Mumbai?+

Roughly ₹1,580–₹4,260 per sq ft of carpet area depending on finish level. In practice a 1BHK runs ₹4.5–10 lakh, a 2BHK ₹7–18 lakh, and a 3BHK ₹13–28 lakh, excluding 18% GST. Designers who charge a fee only (without execution) typically bill 8–15% of project value.

Do you handle society NOC and permissions?+

Yes. We prepare the NOC application, worker ID lists and deposit paperwork, and we plan the schedule around your society's permitted working hours and lift access. This is included in our project management, not billed separately.

How long does a 2BHK take in Mumbai?+

Typically 10–12 weeks from design sign-off, assuming no structural or plumbing changes. Society working-hour restrictions are the main reason Mumbai timelines run slightly longer than other cities — plan for 12 weeks rather than 10 if the building is strict.

Which materials work best in Mumbai's humidity?+

For kitchens, bathrooms, utility areas and any joinery on an external wall, use BWP (boiling-water-proof) plywood or WPC rather than MR-grade board. BWP typically costs ₹120–₹175 per sq ft against cheaper alternatives, and it is the single most worthwhile upgrade in a coastal city.

Do you work in Navi Mumbai and Thane?+

Yes — we deliver across the MMR including Thane, Navi Mumbai (Vashi, Nerul, Kharghar), Mira Road and Palghar. Logistics are generally easier outside the island city, which sometimes shortens the schedule.
