How to use the catalogue
- Take the specification column into your quotation meeting. ‘Soft-close hinge’ covers a ₹180 hinge and a ₹520 hinge, and they are not the same product in year three.
- Match the load rating to what goes in the drawer. A 30 kg channel under a pot drawer is an undersized channel, and it will sag within a year of daily use.
- Spend on the drawers, save on the internals. The pull-outs, the corner units and the drawer systems are what you touch twenty times a day; the carcass behind them is less critical.
- Check the substitution clause. A quotation naming a premium series with an ‘or equivalent’ attached is a quotation for whatever arrives on site.
Three mistakes this prevents
- Plastic cabinet legs under a stone counter. An 80 kg leg rating sounds ample until a 20 mm granite counter and a full base unit sit on it.
- Plate baskets that are not SS 304. They rust in a Mumbai kitchen within two years and the rust marks the drawer below.
- One gas strut on a lift-up flap. It loses pressure unevenly, the flap drops, and it drops onto whoever is at the hob.

Frequently asked questions
How much should kitchen hardware cost?+
12 to 18 per cent of the kitchen’s total cost. On a ₹4 lakh modular kitchen that is ₹50,000 to ₹70,000 of hinges, channels, baskets and lift systems. A quotation where hardware is 6 per cent of the total is a quotation with entry-grade hardware in it, whatever the brand name says.
Are imported brands worth it?+
On the moving parts, largely yes. Hinges and drawer systems from established European makers hold their damping and their adjustment for a decade; the budget equivalents lose the soft-close in 18 months. On static items — legs, handles, trays — the difference is far smaller.
What is a magic corner and do I need one?+
A pull-and-swing mechanism that brings the contents of a blind corner out to you, at ₹12,000 to ₹32,000. It is worth it only where you genuinely have a blind corner. A standard L-corner is better served by a ₹6,500 to ₹16,000 carousel, or by a simple shelf if budget is tight.
Why did my soft-close stop working?+
The damper has failed, which is the standard failure mode of an entry-grade hinge at around 18 months. On a quality clip-on hinge the damper is often a replaceable cartridge; on a cheap one the hinge is replaced entirely. Either way it is a symptom of the original specification.
What load rating do drawers need?+
30 kg for cutlery and light storage, 40 to 50 kg for pots, pans and bulk grocery. Full extension matters as much as the rating: a three-quarter extension drawer permanently loses the back six inches, which on a deep base unit is a significant amount of the storage paid for.
