How to use the catalogue
- Check the humidity column against the wall you have in mind. An external or north-facing wall in Mumbai rules out most of the natural-fibre options entirely.
- Calculate from the repeat, not the area. A 64 cm repeat on a 9 ft wall wastes noticeably more material than a plain non-woven, and the roll count reflects that.
- Prepare the wall properly. Wallpaper conceals nothing. A wall with undulation or a poor putty finish shows through, particularly on anything with a sheen.
- Buy one extra roll from the batch. A damaged panel three years later cannot be matched, and a single mismatched drop is more obvious than the original damage.
Three mistakes this prevents
- Papering over damp. The paper seals the wall, the moisture has nowhere to go, and within one monsoon there is mould behind a surface you cannot see.
- Peel-and-stick in a humid flat. It is genuinely useful in a rental, and it lifts at the edges here faster than the brochure suggests.
- Grasscloth on a coastal wall. It is a beautiful material that absorbs moisture, and in Bandra or Juhu it will stain and go patchy.

Frequently asked questions
How long does wallpaper last in Mumbai?+
Eight to twelve years for a good non-woven on a dry internal wall, and as little as two or three for a vinyl-coated paper on an external wall. The variable is almost never the paper quality; it is the wall behind it and whether the room is ventilated.
What does wallpaper cost per wall?+
A typical 10 x 9 ft feature wall is 90 sq ft. At ₹110 per sq ft for a textured non-woven plus ₹40 installation, that is around ₹13,500 plus wall preparation. Paint on the same wall would be under ₹5,000, which is the honest comparison.
Is wallpaper better than paint?+
For texture and pattern, yes — nothing painted achieves a grasscloth or a plaster-effect non-woven. For durability, cost and repairability, paint wins comfortably. Most well-resolved Mumbai flats use paint throughout and wallpaper on one or two walls where it earns its place.
Can wallpaper be removed easily?+
Non-woven is designed to strip dry in full sheets and usually does. Paper-backed vinyl tears and leaves backing that has to be soaked off, which can damage the putty underneath. If you expect to change it within five years, specify non-woven for that reason alone.
Can I wallpaper a bathroom?+
Not a wet bathroom. A powder room with good ventilation and no shower can take an anti-fungal treated non-woven on the dry walls. Anywhere that sees steam daily will lift the paper at the seams regardless of what the supplier claims about its rating.
