How to use the catalogue
- Split your budget by concealed and exposed. Buy the best concealed bodies, angle valves and cistern frames you can; economise on the towel rail and the accessories, which are replaceable in ten minutes.
- Check the rough-in before ordering. A wall-hung WC needs its frame set before tiling, and changing the model afterwards means breaking the wall open.
- Measure your water pressure. Mumbai supply often sits near 1.5 bar, at which a 12 in rain shower dribbles. Either accept an 8 in head or budget for a pump.
- Buy the geyser with the bathroom, not after. Its position affects the pipe runs and the electrical point, both of which are concealed work.
Three mistakes this prevents
- Entry-band health faucets. The valve fails within about three years, and it fails as a leak inside a wall-mounted assembly.
- Chrome-plated zinc near the coast. In Bandra, Juhu or Worli it pits and blisters within two monsoons, whatever the finish looked like in the showroom.
- A floor drain without a deep seal. It is the cheapest item on the list and the reason a bathroom smells; a proper anti-cockroach trap with a clean-out costs a few hundred rupees more.

Frequently asked questions
How much do bathroom fittings cost for one bathroom?+
₹60,000 to ₹95,000 for a complete entry-band bathroom, ₹1.4 to ₹2.8 lakh mid-band and well past ₹6 lakh at the premium end. That is fixtures only; tiling, waterproofing, plumbing and the false ceiling are separate and usually larger than the fixtures on a mid-band bathroom.
Where should I spend and where should I save?+
Spend on anything concealed — the cistern frame, the shower mixer body, the angle valves — because replacing those means breaking tiles. Save on towel rails, robe hooks, the mirror and the bin, all of which unscrew and can be upgraded whenever you like.
Is a wall-hung WC better?+
It is easier to clean under and it looks considerably better, at the cost of a concealed frame and cistern that has to be built into the wall before tiling. If the bathroom is being stripped anyway, it is worth it. As a retrofit into a finished bathroom, it rarely is.
What finish survives near the sea?+
Solid brass or SS 316, in a brushed rather than polished finish. Chrome-plated zinc alloy, which is most of the entry band, pits within two monsoons in a coastal Mumbai flat. Brushed finishes also hide the water spotting that hard water leaves on polished chrome.
Do I need a thermostatic shower mixer?+
Only if your supply pressure fluctuates, which in a Mumbai building with a common pump it often does. A thermostatic valve holds the temperature when someone opens a tap elsewhere. It costs ₹15,000 to ₹35,000 in the mid band against ₹6,500 for a standard concealed mixer.
